Typical academic year for a student:

i got influenced by yunhui, so haha i created a new lj account.
i dont know if i'd actually switch to lj, but it's kind of fun to mess around with lj haha.

somehow i just suddenly wanna salute them all, for their courage to chase their dreams, in the boldest way ever, to stand in front of people and humiliate yourself (okay not exactly humiliate for some pro ones). but yeah i just think they are just so brave.
which makes me feel once again like some sort of loser. that feeling's so frequent here. and i do feel like im leading a directionless life sometimes. i havent been going all out to do what i actually want, and i dont like this. i have been pressurised by the ever-so-common study stress. i dont want to be a nerd, yet circumstance is turning me into a so-called nerd. there are just so many things i wish to do, 可我却是无能为力. sorry for the chinese, i just couldnt think of something along that line in english.

there isnt much significance to the number 16 or rather the age 16.
maybe the only thing i can think of is that it's the legal age to watch nc16 movies in the cinemas.
yet, i think i have been watching those since i was young because theres such a thing as vcds.
but yet this date (yesterday) of the year means a lot (mostly bad grr), that the holidays are ending and school's starting, that im getting older and more and more challenges await me (not that bad depends on how you look at it), that the exams are coming. but it too means that just 2-3 months more and school will end, for a month, before next year.

after many years of cakes from the clubs (those rich in cream and fat stuff), it's pretty nice to revert back to the common fruit cake.
i loved the mango and strawberry and kiwi and grapes.

前些日子的校园superstar中决赛，由于男参赛者唱了林俊杰最新歌曲-西界，我也开始对这首歌的歌词有感兴趣。我反反复复地听了这首歌，仔细地听（与阅读）它每一句歌词，歌词写的的确好美，可是与往常不同的事，林俊杰这次所写的歌词有些深奥，不容易了解表达的讯息，词句也不简单。可见，林俊杰在这首歌放了许多心血。在校园superstar中决赛，两位男参赛者唱这首西界时面临了不少问题，两人也有过忘词的错误。这并不稀奇，因为看了西界的歌词，我发现这歌的歌词难度很高，不容易记，而若要把歌唱得好，也就需要很好的能力。难怪这首西界对两位男参赛者来说，挑战蛮高的。

我非常佩服林俊杰写歌的才能，写的歌歌词又美丽，唱的歌也是一流的，真是不简单啊！不仅如此，林俊杰也很会跳舞！真是才华出众啊！还记得有位校园评判曾说过要唱歌跳舞并不容易，而它能想象当林俊杰会有多难。的确，林俊杰的能力大家都有目共睹，有耳动听，我们也不能否认大才华出众，深受大家的喜爱！而我对他也只有两个字-佩服。

im not against christianity being the majority, but respect, isnt it only right to respect all religions?

i deleted a post though im still really pissed
once again, i randomly blog surfed.
and some blogs made me wonder about how people love ranting, complaining and not doing anything.
i aint gonna pin point whose blogs, since some of the blogs belong to people i dont even know.

i realise many people complain a lot about nushigh.
i wouldnt deny the fact that i used to as well.
there isnt a point in complaing about how sucky the school is, it is indeed a little messed up with loads of things that are not to your liking, but it's the students who can do a part for the school.
complaining about things that this school lacks wont help.
complaining about every damn thing is this school wont help either.

lets give an example, be yourself day 07.
if you ask me, i think the psls organised it rather well.
but evidently there are many who think it's rubbish.
though i seriously beg to differ.
well, i totally detest students who comment about how byd sucked and that few people actually wore their home clothes when they themselves did not even do so.
it's like you wish that the whole school can be more enthu, but you yourself isnt at all.
still, i think the psls did well in organising the event, but students just couldnt be bothered.

maybe thats why i was greatly amazed by the teachers.
well, i happened to catch a glimpse (or two haha) of their staff luncheon.
their enthusiasm really surpassed that of the students.
need i say more? i think the teachers have indeed set an example for us to follow, but students here just decide not to follow.
im generalising but heck.

i just think we should all move on.

morning was funky. wanyu and i became official door holders and i love that job cos theres air con(:

just went to deb's blog (nyws deb lah)
read her latest post, which was posted quite sometime ago.
it's kind of sad to be in your last year in ny, in nyws, especially when youre so bonded to the team.
somehow i felt sad too, just by reading her post, and by thinking that next year shall be my last year going back to nanyang because the juniors thereafter are almost non-existent to me.
somehow i regret leaving nanyang, once again. i regret not being able to stick with the team for 4 years, i just wish i could turn back time. transition from nanyang to this school wasnt easy, it kind of sucked. i just felt so empty thereafter.
i hated my life here, but ive started to accept it, 2 more years here, to go through all that shit that the seniors have survived.
ethel's the new nyws pres. i like that. ethel's a nice junior, just like all other juniors i've had(: i love them all, i love nyws.
at least they got to handover the team to the juniors, and they will get to bid farewell, i wonder how things would be like if i didnt leave nanyang.
i wonder if i should go back if there was a nyws gathering. things arent the same anymore, i have a deep feeling that i'd end up feeling weird if i go back. i dont know, i really dont.
i do wish to go back, to see how those little juniors have grown, matured and have taken up the responsibility to bring nyws to greater heights. yet, i dont wish to face those even younger juniors who probably see me as a non-existent loser.
the day will come when i will stop going back to nanyang for just a simple reason-changes. 2 years isnt a long time, but i do have lots of memories of that 2 years. im glad i was there for 2 years of my life. yet im afraid to face the truth of life, that good things will always come to an end.

论这么样，看着这一群年轻学生从比赛一开始到现在的成长，自己也觉得有些欣慰。

从比赛开始到总决赛那晚，我仍没决定应该支持年级只有13岁的卓轩正或是被称为黑马的范平庚。可是两人演唱校园superstar总决赛刚刚结束，在每一个星期一，我也没得观赏精彩的比赛，再也不能听到这一群学生动听的歌声，心里也觉得有些空空的。也许我就是迷上了这比赛，可无林俊杰的最新歌曲-西界-后，我就下了决定，支持范平庚。不是因为轩正唱功不比平庚好，而是平庚所唱的每一首歌都是如此美丽动人，而我多次也被他那美妙的歌声打动了，那首西界说服了我支持他。也许轩正年纪太小了，无法体会歌曲中的意义，但我还是认为一名好歌手一定要有能力打动观众的心，而我觉得平庚不但唱功好，在这方面也能够多次以他的歌声感动到许多人。

看了平庚每一回的表演，我能说他有着当歌星的条件，因为他有能力唱许多不同类型的歌曲，快歌慢歌他都掌握得很好。比起去年校园superstar的总冠军黄智阳，我觉得平庚还是差了点，可是在这一届的比赛，只有他的歌声让我感动，也因此认为他应当得到冠军。可惜的是，平庚虽然得到了40分，是4人当中最高分，他在票数方面败给了小小人气王卓轩正，无法得到男冠军的称号。我也觉得这有些可惜，同时也在此让我看到比赛的残酷。

每一种比赛会有人赢有人输，这个比赛也不例外。在每个星期的校园superstar，我们都会看到有人被淘汰，那一幕真的非常让人痛心，可是这却是比赛的残酷。输赢并不是一切，可是我觉得比赛中要输得潇洒，赢得光彩，而不是输的不甘心或因为没赢而生气，也不是因为赢得比赛而太过骄傲。我觉得单单在这校园superstar我们能看到参赛者赢得光彩，输得潇洒，我还记得在半决赛中被淘汰的李俊伟虽然得到了男子组的最高分，但他并没有因此而对被淘汰感到不满，还恭贺了进入总决赛的4位参赛者。这如此潇洒的举动，使我非常敬佩15岁的他。

this is something that has been lingering in my mind for a long time now.
i never understand how people can be so sore when they lose and yet so arrogant when they win.
i don't understand.
what's wrong with losing?
especially when you haven't got anything to lose.
i mean, when it's just a FRIENDLY match, where scores are not even kept, why get so uptight just because your opponent manages to score points while your defender isn't able to block the shots.

there are many things in life that we all got to learn.
i have lots to learn from others as well.
isn't life about learning to better yourself?
never think you're the best, because there's always people better than you.
everyone's equal, because no one is perfect.
some people may be better at one thing, while others are better at another.
learn from one another, is it something too much to ask for?

im blogging a lot about benjamin hum, but that cant be helped.
i'd once again indicate how i think ben is a superstar himself, and it doesnt matter what the results showed. if you realise, ben is a rather guai kid, helping his mom with the housework, taking care of his younger siblings etc. at least he isnt a spoon-fed child. at least he's matured, he's someone with a great deal of sportsmanship.
he thanked his fans a lot, no matter whether they voted or not, because he is happy to have garnered support and he knows that a lot of money is involved in voting, hence indicates that no matter whether or not his fans voted for him, he is really thankful for the belief his fans have in him.
plus he didnt show arrogance to have topped in terms of judges' marks, neither was he sore about losing to shawn, he smiled and said sorry to his fans for not being able to get through, evidently taking the blame when it is obvious that his fans just didnt vote enough. besides, his family isnt exactly rich, and i dont think his parents vote a lot for him, especially when his mom apparently (it's in the campus booklet) thinks that this competition is a waste of money. and there is no evidence that he votes for himself, clearly he doesnt wish to waste his parents money, and in the videos, he indicated guilt towards his fans, for causing them to waste much money.
he has matured a lot, and i believe he has what it takes to be a campus superstar(:
benjamin hum=campus superstar forever=)

and i seriously dont care if you think this a bias opinion, since i aint putting anyone else down in this post. i have opinions about the other contestants, but they arent all positive remarks, (nor all negative), but i shall keep things to myself. (:

i know i used to say shawn is better,

maybe my impression of him changed quite a fair bit.

for his age, i think his voice and singing capabilities are superb.
but for a campus superstar, i think he has a lot of to learn, compared to benjamin.
benjamin has a really nice voice.
i would have cried when i saw the result that shawn was in not ben,
but when ben gave his speech, he kept smiling, which made me smile(:
i think thats what being a superstar is about,
it's not about how cute you are or how many rich tai-tais can you attract to vote for you, it's about how your actions can touch people,
how you make people not forget you.
i think benjamin has done that, even though he didnt garner enough votes, i dont think voting is a good way to determine his standing in people, because for one simple reason, not everyone is rich enough to vote. but for him to be remembered by many as one who can sing well, i think this itself indicates his success in this competition
well, for one thing his voice continues to ring in my mind.
i just hope he doesnt give up, and continue to sing his heart out.

theres a lot of things i wish to talk about, but i dont know (actually i do know) how safe the internet is, if i dont lock my blog. so i guess i'd just keep this to it's general form.

once again, i dont at all like the competition, especially in this school. i think im generalising a little here, but heck. i dont like the way people shun away from helping one another, yet forcefully making people help them. in any case im like this, sorry and please let me know cos i really dont wanna be someone of that sort. back to the point, i hate the way learning's becoming all about marks. yes, marks do matter and it matters a lot to me. but beneath that shell of grades, isnt learning just about gaining an insight into things and benefiting from the knowledge posted to you? here, learning's no longer what i thought it was. i have to agree that i am, too, one who cares a lot about my grades since grades are what really matters the most. however, on the route to attaining good grades, i do hope that i gain something new.

i have to admit that there are people whose attitude puts me off. but i shall keep all these to myself.

maybe learning's just a solo act, since you can never depend on anyone else to help you.

perhaps human beings are born to be selfish, but i never knew they are actually that selfish.

but anyway, i had this really funny dream today (it was in the morning haha)
started of with i going to school and on the way down to some classroom i saw many people carrying those thick gym mats, you know the cool fat ones you find in ny gym(nastics). nvm not that people will exactly know what im saying. and they were carrying it for ahem cheerleading =/
i didnt really bother, went down to the classroom, unsure of what i was supposed to attend,
i thought it was math olympiad at first.
then i saw yiyan (nyws junior transferred to softball haha) and somehow i wasnt shocked to see her, she was there to attend coordinate geometry, bridging module for new year 3s. (how backdated should this be?) then we talked and she was trying to pester me to join back cheer, somehow she's in the same house as me? haha. kind of weird. but i told her no haha. and she was WHYY. then i said, i thought someone left wushu to join softball?? haha, then she kept quite lol. then i started to wonder what time my lesson was, 12p.m. or 10a.m. then mr ng(njw hahahahahahah) opened the classroom for the coordinate geometry people then yiyan disappeared from the dream. so i walked around and i saw shenrong (and chen han duhh). then i thought, okay im safe. then a while later mr ng came to open the classroom for us, and he was teaching us? weird, he was teaching coordinate geometry at the same time. okay but what we were learning was ahem MATH LITERATURE (???) haha, i havent got a clue to what's that supposed to be. some chemistry was involved. this part's kind of abstract and weird haha. yeah math literature. then mr ng wasnt his usual self, no he didnt even sound like mr ng, he just looked like only. he was speaking in some sort of serious weird accent. i cant pin point what it actually was.
basically the whole dream was WEIRD.

yeah but gawd, i started thinking of nyws (+yiyan haha)

relays dont depend on just your 1st and last runners.
they depend on all four runners.
